Today I (re)watch: Person of Interest, 3.08

Ohhh boy. I am scared to rewatch and review this and the next few episodes. It’s a lot of feelings happening right now. But it’s also really really good, so I’m excited.

At the very end of the last episode, Joss finally discovers who the head of HR is, and has been fired up and ready to end HR for good for a while. But she knows they have all the tricks, money and power in the world, so she has to play smart if she wants to catch Quinn. ‘Endgame’ is precisely about that: the final objective (Alonzo Quinn) is now revealed, so how will he – and how will Carter – use the other pieces in the board?

The pursuit of HR by Carter is hitting very exciting and terrifying territory, we get some flashbacks that tell us a bit more about her family life, and her friendships with both John and Fusco are given more weight and color. It is a very Carter-centric episode and I am 110% here for it.

I have watched the whole show before, so SPOILERS MIGHT HAPPEN. Big spoilers will be blanked out but references and irrelevant spoilers are going to be out in the open.

We open with a brief “previously on” focused on the HR plot line and what we have learned so far, and her discovery of Quinn as the boss.
Right then we jump to footage from the MPoV (Machine point of view) of a burning car, a truck stopping to see what’s up, and someone shooting up said truck with a grenade launcher and stealing the truck.

What is John up to, even? I mean, it has to be John, right?

The number of this episode is not interesting at all, but it does tie into and pushes the HR plot forward in very stressful and exciting directions. In ‘The Perfect Mark’, Root and Harold have some more ominous, eerie conversations while she is locked up, Carter is closing in on who the head of HR is and how to bring them down, and everyone (except the number, who is another bland white boy) is kind of delightful in their own unique ways.

‘Razgovor’ is very, very dear to my heart. The number is the cutest, it’s pretty much a Shaw-centric episodes with flashbacks to her cute-ass 8 year old self, we see a big bad being bigger and badder, Joss Carter continues to be a boss ass bitch, and the ending is very promising. An A+ episode to make up for the blegh-ness that was the last one.

Today I recap: Person of Interest, season 2

This is a really fun season. Some of my all-time favorite episodes are in here, and it was hard to pick my most favorite ones for this recap. My least favorites were relatively easy to pick, but only thanks to me reviewing them. A lot became clearer then.

But first, let’s talk about the characters and their development now that we’ve known them a little longer.

Today I (re)watch: Person of Interest, 2.22

The season 2 finale! Easily on my top 5 of POI season finales (geddit? ’cause POI has only 5 seasons, and all its finales are fucking phenomenal!).
‘Zero Day’ and ‘God Mode’ act as two parts of the same episode, and we left the first part off with the following:
The Machine makes a call to both John and Root, who are now both on god mode with her. A phone threesome, if you will. Carter is framed as a bad cop who shoots people for no reason, Harold reluctantly teams up with Root to save the Machine, and Shaw and John are left to following them around like very attractive and skilled puppies.

Today I (re)watch: Person of Interest, 2.20

Woah, we are so close to the double-feature season 2 finale. Can y’all believe?! And it’s gonna hurt soooo good.

‘In Extremis’ has some very good, some very weird, and some very stressful. A lot of ups and downs, we’ll see how the review goes.
On the one hand, we get a very Fusco-centric episode which I had been waiting for since the dawn of time. That was amazing, and stressful but in a good way, and gave way for great character development for Carter too, and for their friendship.
On the other hand, the number of the week is not likeable enough to carry his own plot successfully, in my opinion.
And on yet another, third alien hand, Reese and especially Finch act kind of out of character. Or really out of character, depending on who you ask.

We have arrived at the season finale! And does this show know how to by Advertise” href=”#99581191″> make amazing finales! I cannot even fully express how happy this episode makes me. Let’s begin.

The number is that of Winifred Burkle Caroline Turing, a psychiatrist to wealthy, powerful white guys. While John is listening in, one of her patients vaguely but surely threatens Turing. She is such a sweetheart, but she is probably gonna get killed. Right?

The color of that box is not important at all. In fact, why am I even mentioning it? Nobody knows.
